Backend Developer
Architecting RESTful APIs and database schemas for a distributed product team — schema-first, contract-first, with documentation that travels with the code.
Software engineer treating good architecture as a creative act — equally at home with a query plan or a React component.
I'm Hind Salama — a fullstack developer with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a Master's in Big Data, both from HIAST. My work spans backend engineering, database design, and quality engineering.
Over the past five years I've shipped production systems for the Syrian Ministry of Health, written automated regression suites for German clients, and designed REST APIs and schemas for fast-moving startups. I care equally about the elegance of a query plan and the clarity of a developer experience.
Architecting RESTful APIs and database schemas for a distributed product team — schema-first, contract-first, with documentation that travels with the code.
Built a regression-resilient test culture for web and mobile — manual testing, Selenium + C# automation, API testing in Swagger and Postman. Worked Agile in Azure DevOps with cross-functional teams; reduced regression cycles significantly and improved release reliability.
Designed normalized schemas and PL/SQL procedures in Oracle. Built .NET backends for licensing, registration, and reporting. Owned the Syrian Ministry of Health pharmaceutical-licensing portal end-to-end on the backend.
Languages, frameworks, databases and tools, polished over a decade of practice.
.NET, Java, and Laravel services with thoughtful API design and observable, testable code.
Oracle, MS SQL, and MySQL — schema design, PL/SQL, migrations, performance tuning.
Selenium + C# automation, API testing in Postman/Swagger, regression suites that protect releases.
React and Next.js interfaces, with attention to type safety, accessibility, and developer experience.
Master's-level expertise in big-data analytics, data mining (Weka), and analytical SQL.
Code reviews, architectural guidance, and onboarding support for backend and QA teammates.
National platform regulating relations between the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical laboratories — including licensing requests for every category of medicine.
Web platform for managing medical clinics — patient flow, scheduling, records. Led QA and built the automated regression suite that protected daily releases.
RESTful API surface and database design for a distributed product. Schema-first, contract-first, with documentation that travels with the code.
Master's thesis at HIAST exploring big-data pipelines and analytical patterns — bridging classical RDBMS thinking with modern data-mining workflows.
Coursework: data structures, computer graphics, networks, databases, operating systems, computer architecture, probability & statistics, software engineering.
“Hind brings rare clarity to messy systems — she leaves every codebase she touches more understandable than she found it.”
